East Africa regional DHIS 2 Implementer’s workshop

Date: June 20-30, 2011

Place: Beachcomber Hotel and Resort, Tanzania

Welcome to the DHIS 2 implementer’s workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, June 20-30, 2011.

Over the last few years the interest for the DHIS 2 software has increased rapidly, especially in Eastern and Western Africa, and there is a huge and growing demand for technical assistance to set up and run the software. This workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of in-country and regional teams in the East Africa region to successfully set up, design, and maintain DHIS 2.

Through an intensive 10 day training program with both theoretical/conceptual and practical sessions you will learn the principles of the DHIS 2 design, how to set up DHIS 2 to support your country′s data collection, analysis, and reporting needs, and learn and discuss strategies for national-scale deployment and training within the larger framework of developing an integrated HIS.

You will also get a chance to discuss your country’s DHIS 2 challenges and plans with both new and experienced DHIS 2 implementers from the region and around the world. DHIS 2 experts will be available to guide you on practical work on your country’s DHIS 2 database, whether it is in an initial or more advanced phase, e.g. help designing data sets and collection tools, or indicators and reporting outputs (charts, dashboards, maps, pivot tables etc).
